How do I know if Evolution-X Vilantae is right for me?
Evolution-X Vilantae is something that falls in between traditional applied skin products (soaps, cleansers, toners, topical treatments) and Accutane (isotretinion). There are many people whose acne is not helped by applied products, yet it simply isn’t bad enough to warrant the step up to Accutane (isotretinion). If applied skin products have not worked for you, Evolution-X Vilantae is something you should seriously consider. Some over the counter treatments include cleansers, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid.

Will putting toothpaste on a pimple help clear it up?
Using toothpaste will dry and irritate the skin. There are much more effective products available to improve your acne. Invest in a gentle cleanser (soap free and pH balanced). Avoid cleansers with ’significant emollient’ or moisturising’ properties if you have oily skin. Unfortunately, no. The process of controlling acne takes time, even for mild acne. See your GP and he or she will recommend the most appropriate treatment.

If I wash my face often will I still get acne?
The answer is no???and yes. Washing with a mild soap and warm water does eliminate excess make-up, dirt, dead skin cells and other agents that can clog a Sebaceous gland. However, many acne treatment products use alcohol as a base. When those treatments are used often, they dry out the skin which actually damages the dermis (the skin) causing irritation. So, washing twice daily with a mild soap and warm water (no scrubbing, please) will cut down on the acne problem.

What kind of cosmetics and cleansers can an acne patient use?
Look for “noncomedogenic” cosmetics and toiletries. These products have been formulated so that they will not cause acne. Some acne cause irritation or pronounced dryness particularly during the early weeks of therapy, and some cosmetics and cleansers can actually worsen this effect. The choice of cosmetics and cleansers should be made with your dermatologist or pharmacist. Heavy foundation makeup should be avoided. Some over the counter treatments include cleansers, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid. Prescription medications include antibiotics, vitamin A derivatives, and oral contraceptives. Some dermatologists may prescribe acne medications such as Accutane to treat acne.
